A. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES

The celebration of World Teachers’ Day 2022 will spotlight how to support teachers as they lead the process in transforming education systems. With the theme, The Transformation of Education Begins with Teachers, World Teacher’s Day 2022 seeks to amplify the call for concrete and timely actions for the advancement of teachers and the teaching profession.

As part of worldwide celebrations during this day, the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Secretariat and UNESCO Asia-Pacific will conduct a webinar to lend our voices in celebrating the heart of education transformation and provide a platform for learning and discussion on strategies, from policies to innovations, to better support our teachers. Specifically, the webinar aims to:

  • Discuss and analyse policies, innovations, challenges, and solutions on how to further support our teachers as they lead the charge in transforming education; and
  • Showcase ideas and innovations of teachers across the region in transforming education.
