SEAMEO and New Zealand Co-hosted the First Master Class on Education Technology and Digital Security

Bangkok, Thailand: SEAMEO Secretariat in collaboration with Education New Zealand (ENZ) hosted the first SEAMEO-New Zealand Master Class on Education Technology and Digital Security. The virtual event was conducted successfully on Thursday 30 September 2021 at 09.00 – 11.00 hrs (GMT+7, BKK Time) with over 16,000 viewers on the SEAMEO Secretariat YouTube channel.

The SEAMEO-New Zealand Master Class is one of the SEAMEO-Partner series, intends to develop a platform where key players from education stakeholders and industry can share initiatives, knowledge, and efforts to address education disruptions during the pandemic in Southeast Asia. The virtual series will be beneficial to school/TVET/university teachers and educational personnel.

New Zealand has officially been admitted as the SEAMEO Associate Member Country since 1973. Throughout the long relationship, New Zealand through the Ministry of Education has contributed scholarships, short-term consultancies and funding for special courses which have benefited to the Southeast Asian educators and students.

The SEAMEO-New Zealand Master Class aimed to upskill teacher capacity development by sharing expertise and advanced knowledge in education technology and digital security of New Zealand’s universities and leading universities in Southeast Asia. In addition, this event could develop a growth mindset in further approaching new technologies and innovative solutions.
