This is the third year of the SEAMEO Service Awards, which provides recognition and appreciation to staff members of SEAMEO units who demonstrate high levels of work performance, innovation, creativity, professionalism and commitment to the Organization. The presentation of 2006 SEAMEO Service Awards was done during the welcome dinner of the 41st SEAMEO Council Conference at the Fullerton Hotel in Singapore on 22 March 2006.

In collaboration with SEAMEO RELC and the Ministry of Education, Singapore, the welcome and introduction session was held for all the awardees after the Opening Ceremony of the 41st SEAMEO Council Conference at Swissotel The Stamford, Singapore. Dr Chantavit Sujatanond, Deputy Director for Administration and Communication of the SEAMEO Secretariat, welcomed and congratulated the awardees. A SEAMEO video presentation followed. The session concluded with a forum.

His Excellency Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Minister for Education, Singapore and SEAMEO Council President, welcoming participants to the 41st SEAMEC before he gave out the SEAMEO Service Awards.
